What we rent
Five collections, and hardly any event uses just one. Whatever the combination turns out to be, it is quoted once and delivered once.

Belt stanchions
An 8 ft retractable belt on a weighted post, black or polished chrome. The one that earns its keep: registration desks, gates, and any lane somebody will move twice before doors.

Rope stanchions
Posts in gold, black or polished chrome, carrying 5 ft of velvet. The dressed option, for a doorway that will be photographed.

Carpet runners
Five colours in two widths, cut to whatever the walk measures. It goes down indoors or outdoors alike.

Barriers
Interlocking galvanized sections that stand unaided. Perimeters, stage fronts and closed streets — the answer whenever a line has to take weight.

Accessories
Velvet rope with no posts, toppers riding on a belt post, sign stands that stand alone, and sandbag ballast.

Why Stanchions Halifax
What most enquiries turn on
How the order gets built, who we are set up to work with, and how far it will travel. Everything after that is settled on the quote.
Not listed? Ask us to source it
Nothing here comes off a shelf in a fixed configuration. Describe the event and the order is assembled to it — an unusual combination of equipment, a quantity nobody keeps as standard, or a layout drawn for the particular room you have been handed. Even where the thing you want is nowhere in the catalogue, write and describe it. Looking into it costs us nothing, and assuming the answer is no costs you the option.
Corporate and agency events are our specialty
Corporate clients and marketing agencies account for most of our work, and everything about how an order runs has been shaped by that. Quotes itemised so you can see what you are paying for, replies that arrive without being chased, and enough flexibility in the equipment to take the changes every professional event throws up between the brief and the day.
Orders accepted anywhere in Canada
Nova Scotia is where the equipment lives, not the limit of where it goes. Orders are taken right across the country — send the location with the rest of the brief and both the equipment and the logistics get worked out from there.
The equipment on the job
These are the posts, ropes, runners and barrier sections that would come out on your order, photographed doing what they exist to do.

How it works
Enquiry to pickup in four steps. What actually goes into the figure is on the quotes page.
Send a request
The dates, the equipment and the counts, and the delivery address. Only the email field is compulsory; the rest can arrive later.
We quote back
A single itemised quote for the whole order, delivery worked out from your address and the volume going on the vehicle.
Your order is reserved
Payment in full is what assigns equipment to your dates. Before that it is quoted and still available to anyone else.
We deliver and pick up
We arrive inside the venue’s access window and return for it when the event is down. Set-out and strike by our crew is optional throughout.
Who we work with
Events, in all the shapes Nova Scotia runs them. The equipment stays much the same across them; what changes is the quantity and the destination.
Brand activations & product launches
A door that keeps its shape, a route walking guests past the thing being launched, and clean edges in the photographs.
Festivals, concerts & live shows
Barrier around the perimeter and across the stage front; belt stanchions inside it for gates, bars and accreditation.
Corporate events & conferences
A registration hall that empties before the opening session, with lanes labelled so delegates sort themselves on the way in.
Galas & award nights
A runner from the kerb, posts flanking it on both sides, and an entrance still composed an hour into arrivals.
Film & TV shoots
Holding areas, press lines and public routes held clear of a working set, on equipment that does not draw a camera.
Weddings & private functions
The arrivals walk, the ceremony aisle, and a rope colour chosen to agree with the room rather than argue with it.
Common questions
How big an order can you handle?
Larger than most enquiries assume. Everything is held here in Halifax rather than ordered in once a request lands, so an order running into the hundreds is an ordinary week rather than a special case. Send the numbers and availability is confirmed in writing before you commit to anything at all.
Do we need to be a company to order?
Not in the slightest. Agencies and production companies make up the bulk of the work, but one person organising one evening gets the same equipment, the same itemised quote and the same delivery. No company name is asked for and none is needed.
When does equipment actually become ours?
At the point the order is paid in full — that payment is what assigns it to your dates. Until then we can tell you what is free and quote it, but nothing leaves the pool. Around the dates that fill — award season, the summer wedding run, graduation weeks, the December calendar — that distinction is worth acting on early.
Our guest numbers keep moving. Is that a problem?
It is the normal state of affairs rather than a complication. Lists grow, rooms get swapped, plans shift between the brief and the day. Tell us when you know and the quote is rewritten — which is a great deal easier than discovering a shortfall at the venue.
What colours is everything available in?
Posts on rope stanchions come in gold, black and polished chrome, and the rope end caps follow whichever you pick. Belt stanchions come in black and polished chrome. Carpet runners come in red, white, black, green and navy.
